Guest of honour at the EDGA Open
Our Patron, Tony Jacklin, CBE, will be at Heythrop Park for day one of the EDGA English Deaf Golf Open. Don’t miss the opportunity of meeting him as you come down the final fairway or maybe in the Clubhouse after your first round so hurry and put your entry in now.
Tony Jacklin is the winner of two Major Golf Championships (Open Champion 1969, US Open Champion 1970) and captain of Europe’s Ryder Cup team four times (1983, 1985 1987 and 1989).
Tony is the most successful Ryder Cup Captain of all time and played the leading role in the European’s 1985 victory in the Ryder Cup, helping them win for the first time in 28 years and also in 1987 where the Americans lost for the first time on home soil.
Tony has been hearing impaired for over 25 years and wears a hearing aid device on both sides which has improved his golf. Sound is an important factor in Tony’s game so that he knows how well the golf ball has been struck.
It is an honour for us to welcome him at our 2013 Open.
We will be posting further details shortly so watch this space.
Kind Regards
Ben Stephens
