Official statement by WDGF as of July 16, 2016 :

As the unfortunate situation arose in the last 24 hours in Turkey and with careful considerations, Gavin Balharrie has decided to withdraw his trip to Samsun and travel directly to Copenhagen via Zurich, Switzerland. His purpose of the trip was to inspect the new golf course in Samsun and to attend the ICSD TD meetings as an ICSD TD for Golf. WDGF shares thoughts and concerns with the Turkish government, the Samsun government, and the ICSD in this unfortunate situation.

WDGF hopes to have the visit rescheduled later in 2016 once the situation stabilises in Turkey. As well, the WDGF Board will continue to work with the Turkish Deaflympic OC and ICSD on the inclusion of Golf in Deaflympics.
