Greetings!!
Here is the video newsletter presented in International Signs (IS) by Gavin Balharrie, the WDGF Secretary.
Here is the transcript of the video newsletter :
Welcome to Spring 2015 Edition / Update from WDGF. You may all recall Simeon Hart’s video update just prior to Christmas 2014. WDGF has still been pretty busy since then. The following is an update of what has transpired between December 2014 and today, in March 2015.
Simeon Hart, Don Conway and Arne Lundquist were WDGF representatives that attended a meeting with R&A at St Andrews in early December 2014. The meeting was a success and several outcomes were agreed upon on at the meeting mainly in regards the following:
- Confirmation of R&A continued support of future WDGCs and more positively that R&A wants to meet us biannually! This shows that they are very keen in our work!
- WDGF assistance in regards to providing advice towards ensuring accessibility of R&A Rules of Golf Videos using International Sign
- Assistance to WDGF to identifying opportunities to grow the WDGC (e.g. R&A have their own network that they can introduce us to them – this will help us to promote World Deaf Golf)
Business Plan is being prepared by WDGF for 2016-2020 which will be presented at the General Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Preparations are well underway with the 2016 WDGC with WDGF continuing discussions / dialogue with the 2016 WDGC OC. All updates and reports will be shared with you all.
With the assistance of R&A, contact has been established with IGF and our President Simeon Hart had a introduction video conference meeting with the Executive Director of IGF, Antony Scanlon who himself from Australia! We will be having a formal video conference in middle of April 2015 with some members of the WDGF Board. We will keep you informed of all developments.
Website is continuing to be updated and all tournament scores from previous WDGCs have been updated to a new format for consistency and easier to read. A new email address system is now created to ensure easier accessibility, and will be released shortly.
As a follow up of ICSD President Valery Rudkhledev and Dmitry Rebrov visited our 2014 WDGC last July, we have continued discussions with ICSD in regards to their new constitution and possible inclusion of golf in Deaflympics. Unfortunately, no representative of WDGF will be attending the 2015 Deaflympics and the Congress, on behalf of WDGF and its deaf golfers, we would like to wish ICSD a warm good luck with its upcoming Congress and the 2015 Deaflympics at Khanty-Minysk, Russia.
If you have any news about your golf in your country, please share with us – we can put your news in our website, Facebook, and Twitter. Also if you have any questions or unsure about golf issues, you are welcome to contact us, we will utmost our best to advice and support you. That is what we are here for!
