Australian Deaf Games 2012 was hosted in Geelong, Victoria from January 14 to 21. 1100+ participants, support staff, and fans attended the 16th ADG, which was first hosted in 1964. Golf was one of the 16 sports featured at the Games. The event was a smashing success especially for the Australian golfers!
Gavin Balharrie, the WDGF Board Member and the Secretary for Deaf Golf Australia, had been keeping his world golf friends up-to-date with amazing results. A total of 44 golfers participated in the 5-day event: 1 day of foursomes competition and 4 days of individual competitions. Check out the Deaf Golf Australia website for details.
(apologies to DGA for the late posting – it was still in a draft mode – Arista)
