WDGF President Simeon Hart Visited Turkey for ICSD Extraordinary Congress for two days.

Hello my name is Simeon Hart, President of World Deaf Golf Federation. I’m going to tell you about 2nd day of ICSD Extraordinary Congress last Sunday. Amazingly good. The Congress was facilitated by ICSD President, Adam Kosa. The congress was about amending constitution and code of ethics which was asked by International Olympic Committees (IOC). They checked on ICSD constitution and needed to update to meet IOC. IOC has BUPGG (https://stillmed.olympics.com/…/Bonne-Gouvernance-EN.pdf). International Paralympic Committees has followed that too. It’s good. Last Sunday, around 141 amendments – correct English, new words, remove and add words. This linked to 1st day workshop which constitution amendments has been explained. This helped us to understand clearly then during the congress, we can vote much easier to avoid a lot of questions and waste of time. Amazingly, it went very smooth and it was first time I involved comparing in the past congresses which confused and waste time – long day. Interestingly, all amendments passed and no rejection. This means IOC will be very happy. One of the constitutions passed relating to gender balance passed. It means WDGF, DIFA, DIBA and ICCS – boards must have 30% gender – meaning that if board consists of 7 people – 5 men and 2 women or vice versa. IOC‘s their gender balance is 40% but ICSD decided to start with 30%. In future it is hopeful to have 50% equality. We know Deaf world is small. It was interesting that country’s delegates – one man one woman – not allow to have 2 men or 2 women. Some countries can bring 3 so 2 men and 1 woman or 2 women and 1 man. ICSD encourages equal genders. Therefore we have to be aware of it. We will discuss this issue later. I hope I have given sufficient information about last Congress. It was very good and no one disrespected each other! We all respected each other. I applauded ICSD to make this happened on professional level and did very good work! Any comments or sign language videos are welcome. Many thanks and bye
