The Danish Deaf Sports just wrapped up the 2nd European Deaf Golf Challenge on August 13th. Twenty-five golfers from 5 nations participated in the event. The tournament started off with the opening ceremony, followed by a practice round. The golfers played a practice round in preparation and in the evening, they met to review the tournament rules. The tournament is a success with credits to the organizing committee.
Gustav Whalgren of Sweden came away with the victory with the score of 147. The second place and third place finishers are Andreas Nilsson of Sweden with 153 and Troels Dyhr of Denmark with 154. The competition was very close for the top 10 golfers. The team championship went to Sweden; Denmark and Germany were placed 2nd and 3rd.
Finland will be the host nation for the next European Deaf Golf Challenge in 2013.
